Went to Port Chalmers for lunch today. I really like Otago and it’s landscapes and towns.
Flying to Christchurch now.

Taking advantage of time available I have gone to Dunedin.
Dropped in on Warwick at his bookshop
Took a picture of Petes part of town.
Then some ancient mosaic work
Then a bit of museum visiting. I have always loved the look of these.
And there was a bit more contemporary stuff there too
And eventually the rain came to mess with the great view from Steve and Lynns place
While travelling around in Europe I noticed the “Maker” culture and Tech shops.
In Amsterdam there was a 3D print business selling toothbrush holders.
And in Berlin a Maker Store http://www.maker-store.de that was sselling Arduinos and running training courses.
In Zurich I went and talked to the people at http://www.my3dworld.ch who had been in the 3D printing business for 3 years or so, printing, selling printers, training and prototyping for people.
They had aluminium and steel printing technology too.
It is interesting to see what larger populations allow.
Well made it back in not too much discomfort at all.
Aboard
It is 4:30 am at the moment though, so there are the odd difficulties to be addressed yet.
I need to get out and about and look around a bit. Then figure out what to do next.
Done the 5 hour leg, just the 16 hour one to go.
Morning view from the apartment, around to the right there were a couple soldiers, I guess keeping the local Synagogue safe.
Got on the Metro and headed towards town
And found some impressive building
Cool mall
And looking through windows
Then did what I bought us here for
And wandered home, passing street art along the way
The today train to Rome, with Crappy train Window photography of Tuscany
And now we are there
Yes really
Up this street
It pelted (?) Snow this morning
Some of them are seagulls not snowflakes.
Wintry by the lake
It did clear clear up though
As the title says, Jean Tingley made some great machines
These ones music makers
And others
This one commissioned by Renault, is like a Formula 1 explosion
The man himself a couple of decades ago
More music machinery
Then some streets of Basel on the way back
Well first a little snack
Then comes the snow
Off to dinner now.
